For Mikayla, real estate has always been about more than buying and selling homes. It’s about people, relationships, and helping clients feel confident and cared for through one of life’s biggest decisions.
Born and raised in the Portland area, Mikayla grew up surrounded by creativity and craftsmanship, with a father in construction and a mother in jewelry design. Some of her earliest memories around homes were spent tagging along with her dad on job sites, eventually trading watching for doing. Over the years, she’s had her hands in everything from demolition and waterproofing foundations to coordinating subcontractors, sourcing materials and selecting the finishes that bring a home together. Those experiences gave her not only an appreciation for beautiful spaces but also a real understanding of the work and people behind them.
Licensed in real estate since 2017, Mikayla brings that hands-on experience together with strong market knowledge, creativity and an eye for design. Whether she’s helping a buyer see the potential in a property, preparing a home to stand out in the market, or navigating the details of a transaction, she leads with thoughtful preparation, honest communication and genuine care for the people she represents.
Her experience also extends well beyond traditional real estate. Mikayla has worked in residential design consulting, construction project management and home staging, and has collaborated with architects and builders on floor plans for both new construction and remodels. She understands how thoughtful design and strategic improvements can completely change the way a home lives, while also considering the impact those decisions can have on long-term value.
That passion ultimately inspired her to establish Summer Crest Homes. After seeing firsthand how overwhelming the building and remodeling process can feel, Mikayla wanted to create a more transparent and collaborative experience, where homeowners feel informed, involved and confident in the decisions they’re making along the way.
Early in her career, Mikayla was told not to take things personally. She’s never completely agreed. To her, real estate is personal. The goals, concerns and trust of her clients matter, and she approaches each relationship with the same level of care and commitment she would give family. Success isn’t simply getting to closing. It’s knowing her clients felt heard, advocated for and genuinely supported throughout the process.
Outside of real estate, Mikayla has been involved with the Maurice Lucas Foundation for more than a decade and has proudly served on its board since 2020. When she isn’t working or volunteering, she’s happiest spending time with family and friends, chasing the sunshine, wakesurfing, traveling somewhere warm, expressing her love of fashion, walking dogs or saying yes to a new adventure.
