Shopping local doesn’t just support small farms and businesses—it also means you’re getting the freshest food possible. Seasonal produce is harvested at its peak (often just hours before it hits the market), which means better flavor, more nutrients, and fewer miles traveled. You’ll also find artisan cheeses, fresh breads, honey, flowers, eggs, and even handmade soaps and crafts.
Plus, it’s fun. There's just something about walking from booth to booth with a tote bag in hand, tasting samples, chatting with vendors, and soaking in the music and community energy that makes it feel like a summer ritual.

Make the Most of Your Visit
-
Bring reusable bags (or a market tote with a little structure for fragile items)
-
Arrive early for the best selection—or go late for deals as vendors pack up
-
Bring cash or cards (many vendors now accept both, but it’s good to be prepared)
-
Talk to the vendors—they often have great tips on how to prep or cook what you’re buying
-
Try something new—whether it’s a vegetable you’ve never heard of or a jam made from locally foraged berries, this is the place to get adventurous
Farmers markets are more than just a place to shop—they’re a weekly celebration of community, connection, and the simple joys of the season. Whether you’re after peak-season produce or just want to spend a summer morning surrounded by good food and good people, your local market is calling.
So grab a friend, your favorite canvas bag, and make a Saturday (or Sunday) morning of it. You just might find your new favorite local jam, your go-to coffee cart, or a new appreciation for what it means to eat with the seasons.
