Some Portland restaurants become part of the city’s story. They’re the places generations of locals return to, the dining rooms where milestones are celebrated, business is done, and a great dinner becomes a memory.
For more than 75 years, RingSide Steakhouse has been one of those places.
Since opening its doors in Portland in 1944, RingSide has built its reputation around the things that matter most: exceptional beef, classic hospitality, and a commitment to doing things the right way. What began as a neighborhood steakhouse has grown into a Portland institution while staying true to the traditions that made it special in the first place.
A Portland Tradition
There’s a certain timelessness to a great steakhouse. It’s in the welcome when you walk through the door, the familiar ritual of ordering a favorite cut, and the feeling that dinner is meant to be enjoyed rather than rushed.
That’s the experience we’ve worked to create at RingSide.
Our steaks are USDA Prime beef, aged in-house and hand-cut by our butchers. It’s a process rooted in patience and craftsmanship — qualities that have defined RingSide from the beginning.
But a great steak is only part of the experience.
From our classic menu and signature sides to our attentive service and inviting dining rooms, every detail is designed to make a night at RingSide feel like something worth remembering.
Made for Celebrations — and Everything in Between
Over the years, RingSide has been the setting for countless Portland occasions. Anniversaries. Birthdays. Business dinners. First dates. Family gatherings. And plenty of nights when there was no occasion at all beyond wanting a really good steak.
That may be one of the best things about a classic steakhouse: it can be whatever the moment calls for.
You can dress up and make an evening of it, or simply come in for a favorite cut and a drink at the bar. Either way, there’s a familiarity to RingSide that has kept generations of Portlanders coming back.
Proud to Call Portland Home
Portland has changed considerably since 1944, but our connection to the city remains at the heart of who we are.
We’re proud to be part of a community filled with independent businesses, passionate makers, talented chefs, and people who care about creating something worth coming back to. That same spirit has guided RingSide for generations.
Being a Portland institution isn’t something we take for granted. It’s something we continue to earn — one steak, one dinner, and one guest at a time.
So whether you’ve been joining us for decades or you’re walking through our doors for the first time, welcome to RingSide.
We’re glad you’re here.
